Here are my Project 365 Photos for February. I can't believe two months have already past. At the same time, I can't believe I have ten more months to go! I'm excited to see where this goes, and how I can try and force myself to be more creative. My goal is to really get out there and take some neat photos. Really push myself. I have a year to do this! Enjoy!
I belong to an amazing Photography Group on Facebook. I've been part of this group almost three years I believe, and I've learned so much through each and every person in it. Every once and a while, we'll do a monthly Photo Challenge. It really gets us out of our comfort zones and brings forth the creativity. It also forces us to use our camera every single day, which is something we forget to do sometimes when life gets in the way.
Here are the photos for my January Photo Challenge! Enjoy!
The first time I ever ever visted Thailand, I fell in love with it! I couldn't wait to go back again!
Recently, my birthday present to Richard was...a weekend birthday present to Thailand at a beautiful resort called Pavilions Phuket. If you ever think you're going to go to Thailand, and you want to go to get away from everything and have a relaxing weekend, then this is the place to go. I would recommend this place to anyone! Everything about it was perfection and that's really no exaggeration.
So, here Richard is enjoying his time in Thailand....really!!! Originally, this was a surprise, planned many months in advance but I felt the need to let him in on it a day ahead of time!
Upon arrival, we get to see our amazing villa!
On to the outside of the villa...
It's time for tea...some of the best iced coffee with scones and jam I've ever had!
The scenery is amazing!!
After tea, I've planned for us to go elephant trekking! Her name is Cindy! <3
By the time we're finished with trekking, a beautiful sunset is waiting for us...
And that pretty much sums up our weekend. <3
Recently, there was an exhibition at The Photocrafters here in Hong Kong. It was called The First "_____" Exhibition. Basically you were to submit a photo and name it The First.....
Lucky for me the rules and requirements were not very strict at all. I heard about this very last minute and only had a day to get my photo to the other side of Hong Kong.
This embarrassingly meant I could get not get a mat for my photo nor could I get a bigger size printed.
However, I was able to submit my photo and having it hanging in a gallery for the first time and it still felt great. It's a very simple photo of mine, yet it still remains one of my favorites!
Spring is my favorite time of year with fall to follow. Whats not to love? The beauty, the aroma of the flowers, the colors! I can’t help but wake up as early as possible, get myself out of bed, grab my dog, grab my camera, and take a stroll!
Here’s a bit of what I saw this past week! ENJOY! <3
This mini shoot was extremely special to me. This woman is a good friend of mine. I met her here in South Korea at a school I worked at two years ago. She is very dear to me and I’ll always hold a special place for her in my heart. In Korea, the special dress is called Hanbok. Kathryn decided to buy one to celebrate a special time in her life. Growing up, she had a hard time with family and friends. She has struggled with weight her whole life. This past year, she has lost over 70 pounds and she is happy for the first time in her life. This dress symbolizes a new woman, a new time, a new start, a new smile! Here’s to a a new life for a beautiful woman! <3
The other night my best friend hosted a tye-dye party for her kids and some other families as well! It gave me the opportunity to take quite a few photos of kids and gain more practice! What a fun night! Here’s what I got…
Last May, I added a new addition to my family. My awesome puppy, Roxy. I walked to work that morning and she was sitting outside of my school with some other teachers. She was tiny, filthy, and hairy! I didn’t care though. I picked her up and she licked my cheek. I fell in love with her on the spot. Obviously, I ended up taking her into my life. This is her then…
There’s no way of knowing her real birthday. When I took her to the vet, they were guessing she was around three months old. This was May 18 when I got her. So, I figured give or take she was born somewhere between January and March. I decided to celebrate her birthday smack in the middle… Valentines Day! <3
And yes… I’m nerdy enough to give her a little party like this! It was super fun and she loved it!
This is her now…
Happy First Birthday and Happy Valentines Day to the most awesome dog in the world! Roxy the Rockstar!
